Head of Marketing and Events

Sonia Sadiq M.Com (HRM) is the Head of Marketing and Events with Australian Financial Publications and Australian Banking & Finance, providing complete marketing and event management solutions to conferences, forums, awards nights and summits across the key areas of Australia’s and New Zealand’s financial services industry.

Her previous work in 2005 was with Finsia (Financial Services Institute of Australasia) where she delivered international forums and conferences in Malaysia, Sri Lanka and India. She then moved on to contract with PKF Sydney in the Sponsorship and Events team, managing their sponsorship alliances and partner expectations of sponsored sporting events in 2008.

In 2009 -2010 Sonia delivered 35 events with AB+F in Australasia and is currently working on a calendar of 42 events in 2011, these include international media partnerships and roundtables.

Sonia is a master at multi-tasking and a self-admitted excitement junkie! She possess strong event management skills and the ability to clearly articulate and evaluate event strategies to sponsors for specific outcomes. She has proved to build strong internal and external networks and relationships during her work life history.

In a broader sense her roles and responsibilities are as per the below:

• Set out a Marketing plan and event strategy (The development & implementation of strategic marketing initiatives, legal oversight, budget tracking, expense report compilation, providing event solutions to sponsors to help improve the functionality and overall success of the event)
• Create brand awareness and event websites for each of the events (Includes managing online registrations and payments, marketing emails, produce corporate conference brochures and managing the ongoing web development for sponsors)
  
• Sourcing the venue and negotiating with suppliers (Managing contract negotiations with venues, AV, catering, exhibition, decorative and creative suppliers in line with event budgets)
  
• Complete logistics of the conference (Speaker, sponsor and delegate expectations, liaison with external media for speaker interviews, AV Liaison, speaker presentations, on site registrations, corporate exhibition booths, event wrap-up and post-event analysis)
  
• AB+F Leader’s Lectures Series ( Sourcing leaders, production of each series, website, marketing, liaison with hosts, management of registrations, presentations, meeting with clients for hosting opportunities, speaker topics and on site event management)

Sonia is a member of AIBC (Australian Indian Business Council) and The NSW Intercultural Women's Group. She is also a key participant and advisor to various boards and councils with in Australian Indian community here in NSW.
