The 21st annual Australian Banking & Finance Awards 2011 - Winners Announced

The best of Australia’s banking and finance sector were honoured last night at the 21st annual Australian Banking & Finance Awards in Sydney. These are Australia’s premier retail financial services awards, covering all aspects of the industry, with winners chosen by an independent panel of senior industry professionals. The gala dinner and ceremony at the IVY was attended by over 200 people from the Australian banking and finance industry. 

What was notable this year is that some of the most heavily contested awards were in the areas of advertising and social media, with all financial institutions scrambling for the attention of a limited number of retail customers – along with their deposit business, as Australians start saving again. Innovation and entrepreneurship were clearly in evidence, with industry players large and small being recognised, initially as finalists and then as winners.
